Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, dancer, and singer. She began her Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the character of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors in stage both on and off screen. She keeps working on that award-winning project with several new projects in the pipeline. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This is an Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in 2023 where he'll play Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the helm of the show. Ashford has acted as Paula Jones, the main character of Ryan Murphy's latest FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a national scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other major character. Ashford played for two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. The actress has also appeared in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original role as Lauren on Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford has been raised in Denver currently splits her time between Los Angeles & New York.
